Letter to the sponsors
   Date: (04 Sep 2008)

Dear Sponsor,This important letter is in reference to the sudden termination of Save the Children’s support for FAI Sonora which will expire on October 1, 2008. Your careful attention is needed to ensure that your support for children in Mexico continues in a manner that is consistent with your intentions.

For the last twenty years, FAI Sonora have dedicated ourselves to the well-being of needy children in extreme poverty – among them, youngsters from the Mayo and Yaqui indigenous tribes in Northern Mexico. Save the Children, based in Westport, CT, has provided a source of relay funding from generous donors like yourselves and we have enjoyed a productive relationship until now. Save the Children is informing its donors that it will no longer support FAI Sonora. The primary reasons given for its termination of support are that its goals have been accomplished and that many communities are self-sufficient.

While I do agree that your support has led to many constructive and positive outcomes for the children of Mexico. There is a great deal of work to do in order to continue having a positive impact in these impoverished communities. We are cooperating fully with Save the Children’s termination of support for the children of FAI Sonora, but we respectfully disagree that the job has been completed. Therefore, I would like to urge you to continue funding FAI Sonora’s programs so that we may continue our long and successful track record of humanitarian services especially with the indigenous communities that we recently started working with.

As partly stated in the letter from Save the Children, you can continue making a positive impact in our communities:

To continue your support of FAI Sonora:

•Fill-out the enclosed form and FAX or mail it to ShareKindness, our new U.S. fundraising partner.

•Contact Save the Children (1-800-728-3843, twebster@savechildren.org) to inform them of your decision.

I urge you to continue your support for FAI Sonora, since not responding will eliminate funding critical to the ongoing support of children’s programs in Mexico. I sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and personally welcome your questions, comments and suggestions. You may contact me or Olivia Martinez (Sponsor Coordinator) at the following e-mail olivia@sharekindness.org or by telephone: 011-52-644-418-5271, ext. 108.

Kind Regards,
